Have you looked up the definition of acceptance? Acceptance at its root means to embrace what IS without resistance or attempting to change it or others into what you want it to be.
To be honest true acceptance is a struggle for me at times. My natural inclination is to see things and people as good or bad and not simply for what and who they are. Lack of acceptance leads to massive frustration. I need to acknowledge that I don’t control the universe and I can’t control others.
So, as I write this, I am thinking when the urge to be judgmental arrives, I might want to reverse the mirror and take a good look at me – while I am busy judging, just maybe I am being judged. I might also want to look for the good. Concentration on the positive leaves little to no room for the negative.
I guess what I am saying is the attitude of acceptance kicks the attitude of judgement in the butt. Who am I to judge anyone?
